Assistant Principal Angelecia Latimore

Welcome to Union Elementary School! My name is Angelecia Latimore, and I am delighted to serve as your Assistant Principal in this vibrant and supportive community. Raised in Miami, Florida, I am a proud wife and mother of two sons who attend schools within our wonderful district. I enjoy reading and cheering on my husband and sons’ sports teams.
With more than 25 years of experience in education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to my role. My career journey has been rewarding and diverse, including positions as an Elementary Teacher, Professional School Counselor at both elementary and high school levels, MTSS District Coordinator, and a Structured Literacy Coach.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Fort Valley State University, followed by a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and Counseling and Psychology from Troy State University. Additionally, I obtained a Specialist Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Fort Valley State University. My qualifications also include an Educational Leadership Tier 1 Certification and Teacher Leader Endorsement from Georgia Southern University, as well as a MTSS Facilitator Endorsement from Griffin RESA, and a Dyslexia Endorsement from Middle Georgia RESA.
I find great joy in empowering children to thrive and reach their full potential, and I am excited to continue serving our Union students, parents, and community. One of my favorite quotes is by Harriet Tubman:
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
